Timber deck built around a tree
FAQ
Common questions
Which timber for a deck?
Class 4 pressure-treated pine for good value, or tropical hardwood (ipe, cumaru…) for a longer life.
Does a timber deck need maintenance?
A yearly clean is enough. To keep the original colour, apply a deck oil every one to two years.
Do I need permission?
A ground-level deck generally does not. A raised deck may require a prior declaration (déclaration préalable).
